I just purchased my first house in Charleston SC and I want to decorate it perfectly! I've dreamed of a coordinated space, especially in the living room, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms. I've spent my entire young adult life in medical training and have used hand-me-down and IKEA furniture due to limited finances and having to move frequently. Now is my chance to truly develop my style and invest in statement pieces and well crafted furniture. My style and taste would probably be described as eclectic modern farmhouse (more diverse than the Magnolia brand style) and I'm hoping for a cohesive look throughout my whole home! Overall, I'm aiming for a warm, cozy, inviting vibe with pops of color throughout. I am a veterinarian and spoil my pets by allowing them on the furniture (as well as indirectly bring home a lot of animal hair!), so easy to clean furniture is a must! My favorite brands are Joybird, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Inside Weather, Ruggable and others like those. I attached 2 videos from when the house was staged for sale.

I'm also excited to get some input on the bathrooms. Mine are very bland/white and ultimately I'm hoping to replace all the vanities within the next few years, but for now, I'll focus on making the bathroom decor shine!

I want to keep the off-white walls and white trim but I think this room needs some color, especially because the adjoining kitchen (open floor plan) is also white with white backsplash and countertops. I also want it to feel more welcoming and cozy since we spend the majority of our time in this room on weekday evenings after work.

Also, I have 2 pets: a Border Collie and a cat. I'm looking for living room furniture that is easy to keep clean when my animals get on the couch. I love Joybird and Inside Weather's couches and sectionals and the reviews indicate they are really good pieces for pets. I would love an interesting color or design to the sectional to be the focal point of the room or jumping off point for additional living room accents.

This is a bit of a small dining room, so I'm hoping to maximize the space while still being able to accommodate a table that seats 6. It's literally the first room guests will see walking in the front door so I don't want it to be too "boring" or "nondescript." Having an accent piece or two as a "conversation starter" would be great. If it fits in the space, I would also love a drink cart/bar here as well.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your accent color, we chose to use green because it is soothing to the eye. It reminds us of nature and has a refreshing, stress relieving quality. Green is suitable for any room. In bedrooms it’s relaxing and pleasing, while in dining rooms it promotes overall balance and health. This soothing color encourages relaxation or tranquility, but has enough warmth to encourage comfort and harmony.
