Project Title:
Cozy & Chic Small Condo Interior Design
Project Description:
Just bought a new condo, twice the sqft of my current space. Looking to create a comfortable, modern, and fun master bedroom. I'd like to integrate my current couch, leather chair, and rug into a cohesive living & dining room design. For budget I should likely keep my 8 person dining table but the design needs to be punched up against the beautiful dry bar/storage wall. Lastly, I get a dedicated office for the 1st time that I'm like to make bright, fun, organized, with a reading/lounging zone. Goal would to be at or under $10,000 for all the pieces.

What type of sunlight does this room receive?:

What do you currently dislike about the room?:
Room is currently staged by the seller. The space is just very generic. There is no soul. I love the light walls, view, and how connected the living, dining, and kitchen is.
I also included photos of my space to help you get a feel for my current space. I like my current space but I just want more of a curated feel. Right now my hutch and shelves have a lot and I don't want my new space to be cluttered. I also love art: landscapes, travel... my art are gifts from family.
In addition, I have a huge wine and spirits collection that I want hidden in the storage with some interesting pieces on the open shelves. But easy to bring things out and throw a party - pick among the wine, whiskey, and gins in my collection
What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
Absolutely keep: sectional, leather recliner, living room rug, c table, throw pillows, hand carved wooden vase, iron table for entry (or use elsewhere).
Maybe keep (budget permitting): dining table and chairs, art, maybe incorporating some of the smaller pieces into a collage wall.
I love elements of boho, natural wood elements, and a space that feels very welcoming and cozy. I like the light walls but want there to be color and visual interest in the furnishings. At the end of the day I want it to be fun, memorable, and not generic. I love to travel and would enjoy bringing in some of my photos or professional shots that make me want to travel or reminisce. Moments of whimsy is something that is important to me. Plus finding opportunities to highlight beautiful artisan pieces.
Lastly, I am a heavy person with more heavy people in the family. Must ensure all furniture selected can handle 300lbs per seat.

What type of sunlight does this room receive?:
Late afternoon light
What do you currently dislike about the room?:
It's sterile - lots of white. I also have a ton of clothes so know I will need additional storage solutions to augment the closet system. No window treatments - want likely a combo of shades and curtains. The light fixture is new so don't necessarily want to get rid of it but I don't love it. I also need moving air to sleep so would be open to switching to ceiling fan. Or keeping with a semi-attractive fan.
What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
None - blank canvas. Current master bedroom will become the guest room. Other than a TON of clothes nothing owned. Could reuse some lamps or art but like the idea of a net new room.
King bed is a must! Would like an upholstered headboard maybe in a rich jewel tone color. Would love the master to be relaxing a place I want to nest. Would love jewel tones and wood to feature in the design plus at least 1 chest of drawers for storage. Moving air is important for sleep and a lighter weight comforter or quilt solution for the bed.

What do you currently dislike about the room?:
White box! I work from home and am on video/Zoom for ~6 hours a day. I want a great Zoom background, but something that is also super functional for work. Space is very one note. Want to create an office/reading room.
For my current condo my office chair has wheels and has damaged the floors quite a bit. I want to protect my new engineered white oak floors!
What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
External monitor, computer stand, printer, keyboard, mouse. I like my office chair (very comfortable) but would be open to replacing. I WANT to replace the desk with something lighter and more functional. Preferrable a standing desk as I love the versatility to sit or stand. Pulled a photo from my condo listing let me know if more shots are needed.
My preference would be to keep the recliner in the living room and create a reading nook with a chaise lounge if possible. Open to suggestions if the recliner would be better here.
Open to keeping the shelves pictured or moving on since they are dark.
Are you open to changing your wall colors?:
Yes
Do you have a preference for either paint or wall covering, or are you open to both?:
I feel like this is a place to be more fun - paint or wallpaper (maybe accent wall). But with the glass doors also needs to be cohesive with the living room. I do have some books that I'd love to have on shelves (not a ton, maybe 70 or so). Plus could be the space to display some of my purchases from travels or photos.
Reminder - heavy person so anything selected should allow for 300lbs per seat

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use blue because it is calming, relaxing, and serene. It ris reminiscent of blue skies and deep blue oceans. This color works well in bedrooms and can help turn your space into a soothing sanctuary.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use brown as it reminds us of nature and has a relaxing quality which is easy on the eye. Darker browns work well as accent colors and lighter hues like tan and beige can match and unify most rooms.
