Late afternoon light

I don't like my dining table, was thinking of a 72inch round table, but not sure the space is right for that, i want color but can't find a way to incorporate it with the kitchen & living space, which is black, white, grey. Also it feels like the kitchen just stops abruptly and the dinning room starts. I was hoping to do a large sideboard or something that connects the kitchen space along that back wall. Also would consider a light over the table but the existing ceiling outlet will need to be moved by an electrician as it's not centered correctly over where the table would be.

I want to keep the window treatments, and the tile floor, other than that nothing else has to stay. I like the rug but it was cheap and doesn't have to stay. Of course the kitty climber (in the picture) will go :=)

There are 3 little square windows on the back wall that I can't figure out how to place some art work or shelving around but would like to make that wall less blank. Also am willing to go over budget for the right piece but may have to stagger my purchases over time.
