Purchased a new home-need design concepts for living room and bedroom but focusing on the living room for the moment.

Budget: 5-10k

For the living room, thinking that I'd like either an L-shaped sectional if it can fit or 2 sofas. It just depends on the layout and if the space can hold either.

I like cozy and comfortable but also elegant. I'm also looking for more quality staple pieces that will last and hold up well over time. Overall, a very clean look.

This room is #1 Priority

Knocking down the wall to make one large open area (done pictures updated)

May put the TV above the fireplace OR on the wall in the smaller area (the bedroom wall) Open to either. May reface the whole fireplace with stack stone with a floating mantel - not sure as of yet

Considering a farmers door
For that room inside Iiving room

Seating options
Either sectional or two sofas, sofa/loveseat with accent chairs as well
Would like the sofa/sectional in leather with nailhead trim, like the tufted look
Chairs-really like the modern wing back style with nailhead trim. Would like the chairs in fabric-open to pattern and pop of color

Area rug-open to color and style

Tables
Open - like mixing elements as long as everything works together and does not look choppy. Open to pops of darker woods

Overall colors-want to keep the main pieces neutral with pops of color and pattern in the chairs, pillows and rugs.
Really like the greige/taupe family. Want to the paint and room colors to lend itself to the neutral/tan family as well as the soft grays

Overall want the space to be comfy for every day use but also elegant and a bit refined as this is the main living space and formal space all in one

Open to lamps and artwork

Window treatments-open to shades or drapes

Will be redoing the bathroom shortly as well- demo and expanding

Hi Erica, Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad. To off set the colour you've chosen for your walls I would suggest a white matt emulsion for ceiling, windows and trimmings. Any questions please do ask me. Thanks for choosing Decorilla! Tam

For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.

Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.
