So I am moving into this really open studio layout and will be sleeping on a Japanese style futon that I’ll fold and put in my closet. So my space is going to be living and dining, but really my entire home.

I am thinking warming colors then I originally had in mind. Still very modern, but more contemporary gentlemen's club than contemporary minimalist. I like the idea of a red wall on the hallway and maybe grays and a blue accent wall on the far side. Maybe red and blue is too much, but just a thought.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
