Modern Farmhouse Home with High Vaulted Ceiling

Total project Budget 75k. This is my fifth total renovation house that I have lived in while renovating. This house I plan to stay in indefinitely. I am The father of five and my wife is amazing but does not care about design at all (truly and I mean she could care less). I have attached a picture of my family to emphasize that this room needs to be family friendly. In 2018 we purchased this really ugly house (Forclosure and badly neglected) and I have been renovating since then. I still have at least ten other projects to complete but I have renovated pool and back patio, new roof, AC, flooring,painted (Just to be able to move in), and multiple other projects. House was built in 1984 and this may be the first renovation. There are a lot of ugly architectural lines and angle and I want to soften them in this project. The exterior wall to the den and kitchen overlooks the pool and lake. The original exterior doors still remain but I did remove an old ugly fireplace between the doors. I want to completely open this wall up to the outside with new windows and a door. I need help designing this wall in order for this room to take advantage of the view and really bring an inside out feel to the den and kitchen. Wall between the kitchen and den will be opened up dramatically which will require a new header beam. I’m also looking to add a gas fireplace back into the den and possibly a bar. Beams and a new staircase will need to be implemented as well. I have always done these things myself but this time there are to many other projects and I need help in order to complete in a timely manner. The rest of the rooms will be designed around these rooms so they are of little use as a guide.

I have attached a video which will probably be the best starting point as a guide to what I am looking for. Also, I have made notes on the pictures of the rooms that inspire me. This will be the best guide for what I’m looking to achieve.You will notice that I have chosen Beach Decor in the question below but I don’t feel that truly captures what I’m going after. I also like traditional. I think of this house as being more of a coastal modern feel with some eclectic variations. I do however strongly desire that the furniture be comfortable and functional. I am 6’3” and need to have furniture that fits. Remember one of the main object is to kind of bring the outside in so some of the colors from the pool tile might be useful. Also probably important to know that I do not want my TV above my fireplace.

Even though initial designs are just of the living room you will need to keep in mind that we are opening the kitchen wall and redesigning the kitchen as well on the next step of this process. Therefore layout and design will need to reflect how it will integrate with the kitchen. Total project budget 75K. Also I’m not into very high end furniture unless it is an accent or statement piece. I’m all about Value! That why I’m here. It might be worth noting that while I do like shiplap siding in many of the projects I see but I do feel like it’s becoming old and stale very quickly. I would entertain it for small accents but that is all.
