This space includes kitchen decor selections, like new counter stools.

The main priority for us is a new, comfortable (and pet friendly) modular sectional with wide chaises for lounging and movie watching. The TV will stay mounted above the fireplace. We don't intend to repaint the walls. The foyer and kitchen chandeliers are staying with the house. And we'd like all our rugs to be from Ruggable (or any other machine washable company).

We trend contemporary, but we want this look to be timeless. The color palette we envision is neutrals to balance out the dark walls/floor, with textured elements like leather and darker jewel tones, to avoid an all-beige look. For example, we'd like to change that dark table in the entry to something lighter, to make the space a little more welcoming.

We are looking to furnish this room with a washable rug, dining table (seats 8 - though we have two arm chairs that can be reupholstered for this purpose as well), chairs, existing sideboard, and coordinating art and decor.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
