Project Description:

I am closing on my new home this week and looking for a rustic/chic look! I'm moving from a smaller, updated studio to a large one bedroom and I would like to create a home that feels and looks luxurious. It's currently for just myself and my dog and my boyfriend who visits from out of town.

Some important things to note:
- everything you see in the existing photos will be moved out by the current owner so I am starting with a blank slate
- I don't want TV's anywhere in the home
- Fabrics and colors should be dog friendly. I love white but a little hesitant to use it too much. Overall I like a neutral color palette (whites grays, taupes) with pops of color and a lot of flowers and greenery as accents as well as natural, rustic touches
- Would also love your feedback/suggestion on how to open up the kitchen island for more of an open feel, if thats possible
- I would like to have everything delivered and ready to go by end of May/early June as my move-in date in mid June

I uploaded a few photos - the low, real wood storage bureau and wooden rocking chair must come with me. The taller black dresser and tall black bookshelf can either stay or go if they work in the design or not. I also uploaded photos of some art work that I have that I would like to incorporate.

I'd like to:
- repaint the whole apartment
- potentially polish or stain the current floors as I feel the blonde wood is a bit outdated
- need ideas for storage since small bathroom
- need ideas for shelving in closets for clothes and shoes
- need new window shades - I like the idea of wooden shades, though not required, open to other ideas as well.
- would be nice to find a sofa-bed for the living room, perhaps a sectional
- would like the place to look "expensive"
- rustic chic style
- may need to occasionally block off kitchen area with gate for dog, need discreet place for pee pee pad and to make my dog feel as though she has a space
- prefer larger table to entertain guests, ~ 6 people that can also serve as working area too
- need ideas for road bike storage, ? hang on wall
- kitchen: would like to get rid of cabinets between kitchen and dining room to make space feel more open. Also would be nice to repaint remaining cabinets to look for modern. Need ideas for storage in kitchen, esp if getting rid of some cabinets.

Since your room gets little sunlight a warm or rich color will make the room look more luminous Since your room is smaller using a light and pale color will enhance the light and the space in your room Using lighter colors in your medium-sized room will make it feel more airy and bright

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
