Timeless Creative Home Interior Design

I just moved into my forever home. It's me, my dog, and my two teenage children. I put my old living room furniture in the basement for the kids. the living/dining room combo and home office are on the main floor of the home and I need help with both. The house has big windows on one side to capture a great view of the city.

My home office doubles as a guest room with it's own bathroom. I already ordered a green velvet sleeper sofa from Apt2B for that room, so we'll have to work around that. Both rooms are on the main floor of my home and I am often on zoom calls, so I prefer an aesthetic background. I need a comfortable (and stylish) desk chair desperately.

I have wood floors everywhere, so I need rugs as well. I'm allergic to wool and don't like rugs that shed or are rough.

I have teenagers and a dog, so I like practical pieces that withhold some wear. I like to anchor with quality pieces I will have for years. I want a space that is functional and promotes a sense of well being/sanctuary. I like mid-century, modern, and boho. I love plants. I particularly struggle picking out art.
