Late afternoon light

Flooring, window treatments, wall behind dining room bench, wall color (on the yellow side). The brown recliner and small green sofa in living room are definitely being removed. I'm open to keeping/removing the sofa. If we keep the sofa, I would like to add two chairs with metal accents. If we ditch the sofa, I think a small sectional with chaise on the sliding door side would be nice with a chair on the other side.

I would love a built-in wall unit, but may be too expensive. Perhaps a lighter color wall unit? Not sure. I do need something for the books and the TV.

I'm not really a fan of the mirrored wall, but some in my family are. We could keep as is or drywall, put the TV there, or change into a fireplace..... I'm really clueless with how to best orient the living room and am open to suggestions. I would like it to feel a little more spacious, if possible.

I will keep the dining room furniture and probably the light fixture there. The sofa and wall unit are questionable. I like the jute rugs, but they are worn and need to be replaced with new ones.

My furniture tends to be heavy. The living/dining room do not get a lot of light, so I feel the need to balance to make the room feel lighter and more spacious. LIght floors, light walls, maybe curtains?

Overall needs an update, more contemporary look and feel. I do like the natural fiber area rugs and would like to keep that style. I'm thinking of maybe an engineered hardwood for the flooring...wider plank and on the lighter side. Would not like gray floors.

The flooring, the cabinetry, the counters, the pantry...the black wall and the pinch point between that wall and the refrigerator!!! The fridge needs to be moved into the space where the black wall is (other side is a shower). The pantry can be converted to a butler's pantry allowing for more counter space to hold the toaster oven and coffee maker with top and bottom cabinets.

In the kitchen eating area, I will keep the window treatment, the TV shelving, the plant stand, the plant pics. LIght fixture is questionable.

I would like white cabinetry.

I want to replace the kitchen table and chairs, but want to keep it in the same style (glass with metal). I like the green accents in the kitchen. The wall color is working for now...willing to look at a change if necessary to fit in with new counters, etc.
